Four Ways to Style Olive Green Pants

I've been on the search for the perfect pair of green pants for many years.  I've tried on quite a few, but the fit was wrong or the style was off; it was never right.  I patiently waited to come across the pair that was perfect for me.  It finally happened unexpectedly at a J. Crew after-Christmas sale.  I was not looking for pants, but I saw them, grabbed them for my dressing room party and did a little happy dance when they fit perfectly.  I knew it was fate when then were included in the sale.

Now that I finally had them, I was having a difficult time creating an outfit around them.  They sat in my closet unworn for awhile.  I finally paired them with a graphic tee and a boyfriend blazer.  It was a good outfit but a safe one.  With one wear in, I felt more familiar with them but was still coming up empty handed when it came to additional outfits.  Given that olive green pants are such a closet staple, I was determined to find several ways to show them off and feel amazing in them.

1) Stripes are always a good option

In case you forgot about my obsession with stripes, I'll remind you!  Stripes are classic, always in season and pair well with just about everything.  Add some stripes if you want to add a boost to an otherwise boring outfit.

2) Black on black on black

Call me a New Yorker, but all black is just so chic.  By sticking with one dark neutral color, you allow these green beauties to steal the show while appearing completely put together.

3) Golden companion

Level up your look with a pair of gold pumps.  The combination of the colors has a glamorous feel.  Play around with a fun printed top and gold jewelry to finish off the look.

4) Pairing with pink is perfection

This is hands down one of my favorite pairings.  I'm drawn to both of these colors individually, but together they are perfection.  Stick with lighter/rosier shades of pink and darker shades of green to offset each other nicely.

I challenge you to take this color combo beyond a shirt and pants pairing and find more fun ways rock them.
