Spring shoe stock up

A new season means new shoes!  Spring means the toes get to finally peak out, but hold back those full on flip flops for a couple months.  As a shoe gal, footwear is a priority to stay feeling great in my clothes.  Read on for my five spring 2017 shoe picks. Everything is shoppable, so grab your credit card and a glass of wine, curl up on the couch and let the retail therapy commence!

1:  Mules are having a major moment

These are one of those trends that I remember the first time they were popular and was not quite sure I was ready to jump back in.  However, I’m completely on board for another flat, comfy shoe option.  I walked through the entire shoe department in Bloomingdale's trying on every mule they carried. My size six feet just looked too stubby in some of the most beautiful pairs.  If you have smaller feet like me, go for a pointy-toe version.

2:  Short Block heels are still in...thank goodness

Block heels are easier to walk in.  Shorter heels are less painful.  Together they are beauty and comfort.  Can this amazing combo stay in style forever, please?!

3:  Refresh your sneaker game

Spring is sneakers and skirts season!  Sneakers offer you comfy, walkable outfit options for some of your favorite dresses and skirts.  I’m still in love with Stan Smith’s and stumbled upon a magenta pair--no brainer purchase!  As a bit of a sneaker head, it was hard to choose just a couple shoppable options.  I could be very happy in sneakers every day.  Need an additional bump?  Think how much style you can add to your commute!

4:  Tassels, pom poms, color...fiesta!?

I don’t know how else to categorize all of the super fun and highly accessorized shoes, other than fiesta! This is the statement shoe of the season, stealing the show with any combo of tassels, pom poms, color, etc. to create an instant fun outfit.  Dress it up or down, but keep the rest of the outfit simple to allow the fiesta shoe to shine.  Have fun with this one.

5:  Lace it up

Lace ups add some spice to your otherwise basic shoe collection.  They are also so hot right now.  Not only do they make a statement, but they also provide support to make strutting easier.  Take advantage of this trend and lace it up as much as possible.  My bow tying skills are improving with practice.

With so much uncertainty, it’s time to focus on really smart purchases. There’s nothing more reasonable than a dress that works for every season, and I’ve got the one! I styled my slip dress four different ways, one for each season.

Jax and I are settling into our new normal. For him it’s a whole lot more cuddles and longer walks. For me it’s a new way to wear a neckerchief, among manyyy other things.
