My (almost) Florida vacation packing list

This past weekend I was supposed to be in Florida for a few days of sunshine and reuniting with my college friends.  Due to weather and flight cancellations, I was forced to miss my trip.  I was completely disappointed I wouldn’t be seeing my friends.  I was also bummed that I didn’t get to escape the chilly weather for a couple days and pull out some of my summer outfits I’ve been itching to wear.

While it’s not nearly as exciting as a weekend with friends in Florida, my husband and I settled for a staycation, and I remixed several of my Florida outfits for cooler New Jersey temperatures.  Now I’m sharing how I actually planned to style each of these items for Florida.

I'm really into the crop top and high waisted bottom combo.  Gotta love a fancy pair of shorts for those hot, summer nights, especially in my signature pop of color!  I was pleasantly surprised to see how well this top also paired with my high-waisted jeans.  This greatly expands its wearing season and versatility.  I wore this to dinner with my husband by adding my bomber jacket and replacing these sandals with my oxfords.

Gingham is the print of the season, and I can't get enough of it!  I packed this outfit in case the Florida nights got chilly.  What's great about this outfit is that it will work from springy April days through the thick of summer.

This was my flight home outfit.  These vegan leather pants are one of my favorite flashy yet comfy items.  In this case I paired them with comfy, slip-on shoes to get through airport security.  I also carried a jacket in preparation of landing in cooler temperatures.

My suitcase also contained a few summery dresses that I'm excited to share with you, but that's for another blog post ;)
