Summer clean out! Shop my closet

A couple weeks ago I did my annual closet swap from winter to summer wardrobe. I find this process soothing and an opportunity to streamline and organize. This year in particular I was hit with Marie Kondo inspiration and really determined to get rid of anything that no longer brought me joy. This was my largest closet clean out ever!

According to my Sylebook app, I removed 121 items from my closet! A note on how I reorganize my Stylebook app for items I’m getting rid of: I added a closet folder just for removed items. I want to remove them from my other folders of tops, bottoms, etc. but I don’t want to lose the calendar and outfit history. I keep them in there just separate from what’s actually in my closet. I mark each clean out by date, so I can keep track of how much I’m removing each time. This is by far my largest clean out!

Zara floral mini dress

Mini dress with a cinched waist in floral print. Ruffly sleeves and skirt. This dress is super versatile. Wear with simple sandals all summer. Then layer with a coat--I prefer a field jacket--and add boots for fall.

I really love the style of this blouse, especially the cinch tie in front. the tighter you tie, the more cropped! I'd wear on to this one until it fell apart but it's too big on me.

This is one of those dresses that I absolutely loved the idea of but it was always just a little too tight. I had grand plans of one day fitting into this, but it's been in my closet for over a year without being worn. Time for someone else to really get to enjoy this one!

This is a very special dress! I wore this once for my bridal shower. It was the white overlay with the hint of lace at the waist and open lace back that sold me on this beauty. Back zip and super flattering.

You know I love my magenta, and this skirt is no exception! Such a statement piece. Dress up or down through any season. I wore this in St Lucia with a white crop top and also with a graphic tee and sneakers.

Such a special dress! I wore this for my engagement photos because I was looking for a timeless look that I would love forever. The rouching detailing adds a flattering touch. I purchased this dress at a Rent the Runway sample sale and wore it twice. Time to pass to the next owner to love! Side zipper closure.
